Japanese Buffet at Shogun, 1 Utama

Comment RSS 3 Comments

Last Saturday Agong’s birthday, finally big man got a holiday break. We decided to treat ourself good on this day. Hubby brought us to Shogun Japanese Buffet restaurant at 1 Utama, New Wing. We were there to have lunch buffet. So, you may guess the recent petrol hike may hinder ppl from shopping and eat out for awhile. Guess it is not, the car park is still very very full since early the morning and Shogun is full house man! Luckily we did an early booking and we just walk in without need to wait at the long queue.

We brought along our little rascal. He was sick since last week (fever, cough and flu). Guess he won’t have appetite for outside food, so I brought along porridge and medicine too not forget. Boy slept on the way to 1U. We reach there on time. Lunch starts 12noon - 3pm.

The ambience

I just can’t be left out of his sight, while I’m away hunting the food, he kept crying for me. Even daddy also can’t comfort him. So, I got to quick each round and sneak away when daddy plays with him. He only have 5 spoons of porridge and thought he wants to try on some nice looking sushi, it is not too. He not ate much when we were there. Just play with daddy and a little girl next to our table, walk around and want to be carried. For good, he only sat on the high chair for the first half an hour. I also can’t have a peaceful mind to look for more food and eat more.

We had 2 cheese baked oysters which is not on the buffet menu (entitle 1 for each customer). I didn’t have it as I sniff there is a strong fishy smell when hubby eating it. Here are part of the food,

Other than this, there are more varieties on Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisine, soups, hot plates and dessert. Green tea ice-cream is taste good! We take turn to wallop it fast and look after the little monkey. We take a move at 2.30pm. I can say overall the food is ok and acceptable, just wish to have longer hour and eat slowly on all, as you know with a kid along you can’t have that privilege.

On the way back, the boy looks extremely tired after med. Just to cheer him for a while, daddy put him on the kid’s ride. He just don’t want to be carried away when force to go. Of cause he cried all the way which have draws many eyes looking on me like thought I tortured him. I almost can’t grab him tight when he struggle hard. Finally, he totally ran out of energy and exhausted, he slept all the way home.

Terry says One….to….Ten!

Comment RSS 8 Comments

It was our routine every night, after Thomas and Friends cartoon, we will head to bed before 10.30pm. As usual, after the show, I will check things around the house and prepare to tuck my boy to sleep. Every night, once I said drink nen-nen (milk), he will insist to get it first before anything else. He can’t wait till to get him nappy change and he also not allow you to do some others thing, he will just point and wait at the kitchen.

Yesterday, after his milk and nappy changed, we head to bed happily. He toss and turn and giggle there by himself. He will fall asleep with me in the same bed every night before he gets back to his cot. Whenever we at bed, I will say a prayer with him then sing some of his favourite songs. He will repeat those words in the song that he able to say out like boy, ma-ma, morning, “G” and “P” (for ABC songs), star and some other words he couldn’t pronounce he will just babble it. Later, maybe chat with him like telling him what we gonna to do tomorrow and ask him some words he knows how to says. We both laugh at each other sometimes…I love this moment before bed time very very much!

Once I stop and quiet down, either he will quiet down and fall asleep or he will continue to babbling there. Yesterday night during his babble he do counting, he said, one, two, three, four, five, six. I thought he will stop reading it cause he only can count from 1 to 6 barely a month ago. To my surprise, he continue with seven, eight, nine and ten. I turn back and look at him and smile. He is so happy and say it again and again. Then, I join in to read together with him. Of cause for the 10 numbers reading, it is only read out in sequence, he not recognise any of that yet. There are a few like one, seven and eight, he still not able to pronounce it correctly.

Well, I’m not fully teach him to read number one by one yet and even count until 10. I think is the TV program (PlayHouse Disney Channel) he watch lately having lots of counting in those interactive cartoon. He may have picked that up from there. It is far more than I expected he can count 1 to 10 now. I’m not sure which is which is helping him to say out the numbering…ABC board

I let him have this numbering board since like more than a month ago and he loves it very much. He will play, mess and throw as he likes…When he is in mood, he will bring 1, 3, 2 and 8 (in such sequence) to me and arrange it in a straight line. For those objects under the numbers, he able to recognice a few like milk, apple and fish.

Sometimes, we just not sure when he know things and he able to pick it up. He may not able to say out now, but he have used to observe and recognise it. When the time comes he able to understand it and perform it. I yet to see more things he know and pick up now.
